What we collect and why
1. Searching for tyres
Whenever you look up a car by its registration, the plate and the postcode you give are used to identify the tyre sizes your car needs and the centres near your postcode. That lookup is made with our fulfilment partner, Tyres.co.uk, which holds the vehicle and fitting data; the search is not linked to you and it is not kept here beyond ordinary server logs. A search by tyre size sends nothing personal, not even a postcode.
2. The centre finder
On the fitting pages, the postcode box looks the postcode up on postcodes.io, an open public service, to place it on the map, so the listed centres can be ranked by distance from you. That postcode is not kept by this site, in any form.
3. Maps and weather
Every map here is built from OpenStreetMap tiles, pulled by your browser from openstreetmap.org, so OpenStreetMap sees your IP address in the same way any website you visit does. The weather shown for Bristol comes to our server from the Met Office, or from MET Norway when the Met Office is unavailable, for Bristol at large; neither service receives anything about you.
4. Cookies and logs
There are no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies on TyresBristol.uk, and there is no tracking script anywhere on it, from the home page to the last centre listing. The host is Vercel, and its servers keep the ordinary short-term logs of IP address, browser and pages requested for security and to keep the site running; they are not used to identify you.
5. When you buy
The moment you press buy, you move off this site and the rest of the order happens with our fulfilment partner, Tyres.co.uk. Name, address, card details, car and fitting slot are collected and processed by Tyres.co.uk under its own privacy policy; that policy explains what is done with the information and how to use your rights over it.
6. Reviews
Reviews on this site come from verified buyers through Tyres.co.uk with the author's name cut to a first name and an initial. Nothing on this site asks you for a review, and there is no form for it; they arrive with names already shortened.
7. Your rights and contact
As UK data protection law provides, you can see the personal data held about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to the way it is used. With so little held here, such a request will usually concern an order, which Tyres.co.uk handles; whichever it is, begin with the contact page. From time to time this policy will be revised; the copy here is always the one that applies, and nothing older counts.
